Children’s Grief Awareness Day

We Remember: Children's Grief Awareness Day
Despite the many advances in breast cancer more than 39,500 women—1,970 from Pennsylvania--will die from the disease this year. They are grandmothers, aunts, sisters and mothers who leave children behind with only memories of the women they loved. Only five other states have a higher breast cancer mortality rate.

On November 17 Children’s Grief Awareness Day, take a moment to remember the children left in the wake of a woman’s death due to breast cancer. Let these children know they are not alone in their grief, especially as we embark on the holiday season.  Before they graduate from high school, one child out of every 20 will experience the death of a parent. The effects can be long lasting, but with your help, children can better understand and manage their feelings. Click here for more details of how you can help.
